How Does it Work?
The Ecoegg contains a number of small patented pellets and it is these pellets that are the secret to the Ecoeggs amazing cleaning power.
The Ecoegg contains two types of cleaning pellets: - The tourmaline ceramic pellets weaken the adhesive forces between the dirt and fabric. The mineral pellets then naturally ionize the oxygen molecules in the water which then penetrate deep into the fabric lifting away the dirt and grime, without fading colours or damaging the fibers.
Our own scientific testing shows that these two types of pellets used together give the best cleaning results.
The ionized oxygen molecules also increase the pH level of the water, which has a natural softening effect on your laundry, so you do not need to use additional fabric softener or conditioner.
The Ecoegg is refillable, so after 72 washes, simply open the Ecoegg as instructed and top up the pellets with one refill pack of mineral pellets. Just repeat this process every 72 washes.
The Ecoegg is supplied with enough refill packs to give approximately 720 washes in total. This is enough to last the average family for 2 years’ worth of washing.
Usage instructions
Using the Ecoegg is easy. Just place one Ecoegg into the drum of the washing machine along with your laundry - no other liquids or powders are required.
Temperature The Ecoegg will work at temperatures up to 60 degrees Celsius. However, the Ecoegg is just as effective at 30 or 40 degrees, if desired.
Cut out the rinse cycle - save even more money. The Ecoegg does not leave any residue as with powdered detergent, therefore there is no need for a rinse cycle. This can save consumers time, energy and even more money with every wash.
The Ecoegg will naturally soften fibers even in hard water, so no fabric softener is required. However, fabric softener can be used in conjunction with the Ecoegg if desired, without affecting its performance.

Q. Is the Ecoegg manufactured from environmentally friendly materials?
A. Yes, absolutely. The rubber and plastic that the Ecoegg are made from are 100% recyclable.
Q. Can it be used on sensitive skin, including babies?
A. Yes, as there are no harsh chemicals involved, the Ecoegg is 100% hypoallergenic meaning that it is safe for the most sensitive skin, including babies and children.
Q. Will the Ecoegg harm washing machines?
A. No, the Ecoegg is perfectly safe to use with all makes of washing machine. It is made from soft, durable rubber so it’s gentle on your machine.
Q. Can it be used in all temperature washes?
A. Ecoegg works great in washes up to 60 degrees C. It will als owork well in cold water washes. The Ecoegg should not be used above 60 degrees C as this will shorten the life of the cleaning pellets.
Q. Can the Ecoegg be left in for the whole wash cycle?
A. Yes, but it should be removed for the drying cycle if your machine has one.
Q. Do I need to dry the Ecoegg between washes?
A. If you are doing several washes one after another, then you do not need to dry the Ecoegg between washes. However once you have finished washing for the day, you need to leave the Ecoegg out of the machine to dry.
Q. How do I know when to refill my Ecoegg?
A. Keep an eye on the mineral pellets inside the egg. When these have dissolved to about half of their original size, then you need to refill the Ecoegg. You should also monitor the cleaning power of the Ecoegg. When this reduces it’s probably time to change them.
Q. Is it OK to use my Ecoegg with delicates?
A. Yes, however we suggest that you always use a laundry bag to protect your delicates and use the ‘delicates’ setting on your machine.
Q. Can I use Ecoegg in top and front loading machines?
A. Yes, it will work great in top loaders, front loaders and twin tubs. One Ecoegg is normally sufficient for approximately 5Kg of washing, the capacity of a standard domestic washing machine. If you are using a larger machine, you may need to use 2 Ecoeggs to gain satisfactory results.
Q. Why isn’t my Ecoegg working as well as expected?
A. There are some steps you can take to make sure you are getting the best results from the Ecoegg. Make sure you are not overloading your machine. The Ecoegg needs room to move around in the wash. Make sure your machine is not set to use the minimum amount of water
. Whilst the Ecoegg works well on most everyday stains, just like with normal washing detergent, there may be the occasional stain that requires extra help.A ‘pre-wash’ on ‘in-wash’ stain remover can be used as normal. This will not affect the performance of the Ecoegg in any way
The Ecoegg contains no harsh bleaching agents. If you find that your whites are not coming out as bright as you are used to, try adding some eco-friendly laundry bleach to your white loads.
